Renewable Energies_Why are renewable energies not yet widespread?

What do you think about?
According to your opinion, are there any other reasons to support this questions apart the following ones?

•because they are expensive and people are not ready yet;

•because of their poor efficiency in terms of energy production;

•because it is difficult to find an agreement with local people when it comes to plants installation;

•because of the lack of a proper distribution greed;

•because they are barely known

•because of lack of a serious political will;

•other?

The renewable energies are definely our future.In the next years every governments have to choice the more suitable energy mix.
There is a problem about the knowledge of the average citizen on the possibilities provided by the renewebles.
For example, in the month of february there was a Town meeting in Prato, a small city near Florence, about the theme of the landscape.
From the discussions emerged the problem of the impact of the wind turbine blade.But noone speacks about the impact of nuclear plant..I think it's very very strange and I think that the Italian politician and media have great responsabilities.
I think that the Italian government has to push every house owner to put a photovoltaic Solar System on his roof but no gpvernment advertise has been made on the public television.
But if you see the news on the Tv you often may listen italian politicians gloryfing the nuclear energy as for them it will be the solution to our energy problems.
