Parliament has finally adopted a directive that, in order to protect the environment and human health, down measures to reduce waste production, also encouraging eco-design, and requires the use of separate collection schemes by 2015 to increase at least 50% reuse and recycling in 2020. Then provides the definition of management programmes and waste prevention and rules of permits, accountability, sanctions and inspection of the plant.

Reducing waste is surely a good thing but now we have to eliminate the waste.
How is it possible?
ZERO WASTE STRATEGY
This process is not an ambientalist utopian, it is a real way to face the waste problem and it was developed and adopted for the first time in the US.
By now in Italy several local administrations as Novara and Capannori have introduced it in their country.
The strategy bases on a simple concept: the materials are not garbage but thy are resources that we may reuse.

Reducing waste is always the best solution! And the extra costs - we will just have to accept. A clean, healthy environment is worth payin for.
