The current problem is that a single source of energy cannot provide entierly for the needs of a household,a company or a town.
Furthermore, their availability varies according to the locations.
For instance, solar energy insn't reliable in northern countries, while geothermal energy is abundant in Iceland.
Wind is abundant on coastlines while streams in mountains can be very productive.
Therefore we believe that choices must be made according to the assets of each location, bearing in mind that there is no miracle solution.
We believe that the maximum should be done though to ressort to renewable energy so as to limit the impact on the environment, even if complements are needed!
In conclusion ,we can say that the greenhouse effect gas emissions, the exhaustibility, and the rising prices of fossil fuels clearly lead us to consider using renewable energy sources.
At the moment ,three quarters of our energy consumption comes from coal, natural gas and petroleum , and one fifth of our electricity is produced by nuclear plants.
Nuclear energy appears as a very efficient and clean energy as far as a carbon dioxide emissions are concerned, but the issue of the very long term radioactive waste and the risk of serious accidents are not yet solved.Renewable energies are not effective and cost competitive enough yet but their price and efficiency are increasing on top of that, they offer a certain number of advantages :
they are inexhaustible ,no polluting and safe .
Canadian citizens had the lead with 436.2 Btu per capita in 2005 because of its developpement but also probably owing to is cold climate.
Europe is twice as populated as south America and consumes nearly three times as much energy.
The US energy consumption is nearly 7 times as high as africa's.
So,if we keep consumming at that pace, our needs in energy may become superior to our ressources and production capacity.
Conclusion :therefore,we are convinced we should our energy consumption in transport ,industry and housing.
Canada's energy consumption increased by 17 percent between 1995 and 2005 while chile's energy consumption by 63 percent.
In fact, the rise of energy consumption is sharper in developping countries than in developped countries.
Still, developped countries consume much more than developping countries.
The most populated country is china and its need in energy increased by 93 percent. As its consumption per capita is 347 percent higher than that of India,we can conclude that china is developping more quick than India.

So why not develop their use?
