Energy Consumptions_ How do you consider the modern developing system?

What do you think about?
According to your opinion, are there any other reasons to support this questions apart the following ones?

•is the only condition to provide economical welfare and i believe is the only choice we have;

•is highly consuming oriented, but we could give our self limits and be satisfied as we are today;

•none: reduction is not necessary,
technological development will solve the problem;
