What do you think it could be more effective to convince the industrial sector on energy consumption reduction?
What do you think about?
According to your opinion, are there any other reasons to support this questions apart the following ones?
•higher energy prices to force companies to reduce their consumptions;
•economical incentives for the companies that opt for new technologies, energetically efficient;
•laws to punish and avoid wastes;
•a mandatory “energetic certification of goods”, to inform the consumers on products produced by using less energy;
•other?
If you want to give your contribution and if you think this is the most relevant question to the discussion, support it!
a mandatory “energetic certification of goods”, to inform the consumers on products produced by using less energy
this is a strong one if "the administration" for the companies is not to heavy and a powerfull communication towards the comsumers because industry produces what comsumers ask for, so their is more power in our hands than we think untill now.
In terms of prioritising the above points it very much depends on the economic and political system in which you operate (eg the differnece between the US and continental European ways of doing things). That said the the two most effective would in my opinion be:
1)Higher energy prices eg though environmental taxes which should be earmarked for,
2) economic incentives to adopt new energy efficient technologies (which initially are often more expensive).
A successful example of the above approach is the development of the windenergy technology and use in Denmark.
